Happy National Volunteer Month to All Iona Volunteers Past, Present, and Future!
The month of April is a time to recognize and encourage people to seek out ways to engage in their communities. While this engagement still looks somewhat different from pre-pandemic years, 308 Iona volunteers and interns gave more than 11,000 hours of their time in service to our mission supporting older adults in FY23.
Glover Park Village
A small group of neighbors and volunteers has been working hard since 2010 to create a supportive community for seniors who need help accessing services and those who would like to volunteer to help.
Friday Midday Music at National City Christian Church
In addition to a food pantry and worship activities, the National City Christian Church offers music Fridays at 12:15 pm.
Sibley Senior Association
Sibley Memorial Hospital invites you to become a member of the Sibley Senior Association, to help you maintain your good health. With over 7,000 members the annual fee for new members is $20 for one person and $38 for two people at the same address. They offer a wide range of classes, seminars, events, and discounts.
Brain Health (Iona Senior Services)
Iona's Take Charge/Age Well Academy gives healthy and proactive adults time to focus on the future. Studies reveal that older adults who plan ahead need fewer intensive services later.
