Walking Club – Sibley Seniors

Tuesday and Thursday ongoing, arrive anytime between 8:30 am-9:30 am. Members walk in a temperature-controlled, safe and dry environment. Free blood pressure checks are provided. Cancellations for bad weather follow the Montgomery County school schedule. The Walking Cub is a free community service sponsired by Sipley Hospital and Mazza Gallerie. Meets on teh councourse level of Mazza Gallerie. Free parking in the underground structure. If you drive to Mazza, please pull the ticket and bring it with you to get it validated at the Walking Club.

YMCA – Fit and Well Seniors

Fit & Well Seniors is a wellness program which caters to the needs of DC seniors. Launched in 2010 in partnership with CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, this program helps seniors find movement and vitality—all free of charge. Thanks to a grant from the Department of Aging and Community Living the Fit & Well Seniors program is now part of the DACL's Senior Services Network. University of the District of Columbia (UDC) Aquatics Program

The UDC pool is open to the public. There is a water wise aqua exercise class. Hours are on the website. The pool features a 25 yard pool with six lanes, a separate diving well with two 1 meter diving boards, a spectator grandstand, offices, and locker rooms. Individuals not belonging to the University may use the pool during designated hours through purchase of a 20-use pass for $100.00. Passes may only be shared by immediate family members, and all family members wishing to use the pass must be identified on the form at the time of sign-up. All users must bring a lock and towel. Locks must be removed after each use.

University of the District of Columbia (UDC) Institute of Gerontology: Bodywise Program

The Bodywise Health and Fitness Program is a free program designed to promote health, wellness, and fitness for DC residents 60 years of age and older. Some of the benefits which may be achieved include: an increase in participants’ cardiovascular efficiency, improved muscular strength and flexibility, and increased knowledge of physical activity. The BODYWISE program consists of water aerobics, yoga, low-impact aerobics, and movement/chair exercise. Classes are conducted by certified instructors.
